YouTube Quick Hits [Pt3]

Annnd here it is, part 3 in my “Quick Hits” series. A bit of time-lapse, a short cup holder build, and music! What more could you want for your Friday continuum of days that all seem the same.

Time lapse taken with my GoPro from a balcony on Shephards hotel on Clearwater beach. Fun place to spend a few days when things are normal.

Needed a cup holder, so I machined one on my router. I still use this today, though added a piece of bike tire where it clamps onto the handlebar to keep it from slipping. I see this video as kind of a transition point where I started trying to tell a whole story with my YouTube videos, rather than just being a quick clip.

And here’s what I mean by a “quick clip.” No real purpose here, but it looks somewhat like a radial aircraft engine. I think I gave it away as a white elephant gift. I imagine it’s in the trash at this point, but my hope would be that someone finds it and is utterly confused as to what it does.

A “Hank Drum” that I built with my cousin Jackson. “Hank” as in Hank Hill the propane salesman, which is a play on Hang percussion instruments. Don’t ever try to make one of these with a propane tank that’s ever been filled before. You can find versions of both types on Amazon.

More musical collaboration. This time with PVC pipe. Lots of fun, great sound, but it takes up a lot of room!

Time lapse of me taking photos for a feature on one of my ‘beests in Make:. Was also in the print version. This particular video is unpublished, but you can see lots and lots of video on my walking creatures here.

Hope you enjoyed the clips. That’s probably all for a while, though maybe I’ll do another “Quick Hits” series at some point. You can of course see lots more on my YouTube channel, though most of my videos now tend to be longer.

On another note, I haven’t seen it in quite some time, but I keep thinking that Groundhog Day [Amazon] would be quite the relatable movie these days. And if you read this far, go ahead and scroll waaayy down to the bottom of this page to sign up to get an email when a new post is published!
