My life situation has become such that we needed a bunk bed. You can find them in the ~$200 range online, and ~$300-400 in stores, however, beds in that price range tend to be somewhat shaky. More expensive beds can be more sturdy, but often feature stairs/side storage that doesn’t fit well into its intended space, and obviously I’d like to keep costs down if possible.
So while I intended to buy a bunk bed, after some searching and consideration I decided to build one myself. All that being said, I’m extremely happy with how it turned out, as it’s very solid, looks good (IMO), and cost around $300 not including slats/actual bedding.
