Years ago, I obtained an excellent TS100 [Amazon] soldering iron, then made a concrete “squid” to hold things more recently. During this time my relationship with soldering has gone from terrible to ~OK, and while I still wouldn’t say I’m great at it, the video below at least shows how to change a TS100 iron tip.
I also show how to—or perhaps hot to not to—desolder header pins. I don’t go over how to get them totally clear of solder inside the holes, which I’m still exploring with solder suckers and solder wick.
